THE HEART BEHIND THE WORDS
A little about
Ayesha.
The Essence of My Life is a poetry space by Ayesha Akhtar: a home for Urdu, Roman Urdu and English words about love, longing, hope and faith.
“Where every word
has a soul.”
A PLACE FOR WHAT STAYS WITH US
Feel deeply.
Read slowly.
This project grew from an interest in poetry, emotions, thoughts and beautiful words. Its four collections make room for affection, absence, a new beginning and a quiet prayer.
The languages sit alongside one another because a feeling does not always arrive in the same words. Urdu-script poems carry their own shape on the page; Roman Urdu and English provide other ways into the collection.
Each poetry page pairs the full piece with a reading note. The journal offers practical exercises and worked revisions, giving readers something to explore beyond a quote card.
How this collection is made
The initial website design, rose illustration, editorial poems, reading notes and journal guides were created with AI assistance. The site labels editorial work accordingly. These pieces are not represented as Ayesha’s unaided personal writing or as quotations from established poets.
Owner-submitted poetry can carry its named author and source information. Shared personal prayers are kept distinct from scripture or verified hadith. The editorial policy explains the labels and the correction process.
A shared page for new voices
Readers can also become contributors. Write & Share accepts original poetry, blogs and personal journals in Urdu, Roman Urdu and English. Ayesha reviews each submission before it appears in the community with the writer’s chosen name. A writer account is not required; submission email addresses stay private.
Stay in touch
